The Maine Lobster
Festival
What is
it?
- One of
the largest and original lobster festivals, at its 60th year, is scheduled
for another festive celebration in July 30th to August 3rd.
- Five-day
festival celebrating the Seafood month and Maritimes traditions.
- More
than 60,000 attendants for the past events.
- Events
are lined up with a great variety of constant live entertainment, music, dancing,
arts and crafts, an assortment of vendors, commercial tent, children's amusement
tents, lobster eating contests for children and adults, boat rides and race,
crate race and cooking contest. What's more, the astounding marine theme parades
with live music, marching bands, theme floats, drill teams and increasing
over 25,000 fans. The Coronation and pageant of the Maine Sea Goddess. As
well as the reputable and growing 10K race, with hundreds of contestants annually.
- Feasting
menu focuses on fresh steamed Maine lobster, and consists a variety of seafood
steamed and fried clams, shrimps, mussels and a more variety provided by many
vendors. Wine, beer, and other beverages are also available.
- Admission
fee is different base on the date and time, which the ticket is purchased
for; an option to purchase a ticket of the whole event is available. Reserved
seating tickets are purchased separately in advance. Exact price are not available
before festival officials have released the information.
- The proceeds
from the festival have been donated to numerous of charitable endeavors towards
the city.

Lobster Festival
What is
it?
- Three-day
festival celebrating the Seafood month and Maritimes traditions
- Around
37,000 attended, and over 24,000 lobster meals sold at last year's fest.
- Nonstop
Live entertainment, music, street performer, dancing, arts and crafts, exhibition,
calling of lobster contest, and interactive games and rides for children.
In addition, one of the more popular events also includes the Dog pet parade
and competition, whereas the pets are costumed with marine related theme.
The Dog pet parade celebrates Bob, the legendary dog, whose bark had lead
lobster fleet safely into the harbor despite the broken lighthouse on a stormy
night. Pet competition winner will be awarded with $500.
- Feasting
menu consists of fresh steamed Maine lobster, and variety of seafood including
steamed and fried clams, shrimps, mussels, vegetables, wine, beer, other beverages
and traditional Southern California style food along more variety provided
by many vendors. Discounted steamed lobsters are priced at $11 for 1.25 lb.

fee is $6 and children under the age of 12 are free.
